This is going to be a long email to cover all the questions and concerns you have about the update and the adapter, please read it through the end, we have divided this email into 6 parts:
  • Public update and how to update it (please read it carefully because the unit will be damaged if you will not follow the step-by-step instructions)
  • Solution for users who can't update (No Red and Blue light)
  • The screen is stuck on "connectin"
  • Feedback about the product (Very important)
  • Delayed customer support replies
  • Returns
Firstly, the public update and how to update it.
This is the FINAL public update release (Adapters shipped from today will have the newest firmware already, do not need to update it additionally). Please follow the update process carefully.
Let's separate the update process in the two groups, this is very important to follow:
  1. For those who already successfully updated the newest version on which was emailed on Saturday
  2. For others, who did not update the adapters at all and have 10.25 and 11.11 version, please follow the update process strictly via USB drive, do not update it via a browser afterward again.

The update process for the first group:
  1. Plug the adapter it into CarPlay USB slot
  2. Connect your phone to the adapter, wait for the CarPlay to appear on the screen
  3. Once the phone is connected to the adapter's WIFI network, open 192.168.50.2 on the browser
  4. Click update and wait until the process bar will be completed 100%
  5. Done
  6. Please DO NOT update the adapter until the further notice via 192.168.50.2 webpage

The update process for the second group:
  1. Please download the firmware update file from here: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0268/4171/0674/files/Auto_Box_Update.img?204
  2. Please save update firmware file on USB flash drive (Flash drive format must be FAT32)
  3. Plug the flash drive into the CPLAY2air adapter.
  4. Plug CPLAY2air to USB power charger/wall charger for your iPhone. Please don’t use the USB port of the car or computer!!
  5. Please wait 2-3 minutes, until the red LED and the blue LED will light up at the same time.
  6. Please unplug the adapter from the USB charger and remove the USB flash drive from the adapter.
  7. Please now plug the product into the USB port of the car.
  8. Please wait until the new window will appear on the vehicle's screen.
  9. Connect your phone to the WIFI SSID network which is shown on the screen.
  10. Once connected, use the camera app to scan QR code on the screen or input 192.168.50.2 on your phone browser.
  11. Once the software will be activated, please click the button "Reboot", DO NOT UPDATE THE ADAPTER AGAIN VIA BROWSER
  12. Wait for the new interface to appear on the screen.

Setup instructions for the CPLAY2air adapter with the new software:
  1. Turn on Bluetooth and WIFI networks on your phone
  2. Click the search button on the vehicle's screen
  3. Select your phone on the vehicle's screen you want to pair the adapter with
  4. The paring notification will appear on your phone, select "Pair"
  5. Enjoy the new update!!

Our solution to the problem if you still are not able to update the unit (No Blue and Red light)
Please follow the ensure you complete these steps:
  1. Make sure you use the newest update file above;
  2. Ensure you have followed step-by-step instructions for USB flash update, plug the USB drive first, then plug the adapter into a wall charger;
  3. Please keep the drive plugged in into USB charger at least 5 mins, if the blue light did not appear, try to unplug the USB flash drive from the adapter and plug the adapter into the car.
  4. If there were no changes on the screen please send us an email info@carplay2air.com with the subject "EXCHANGE" and we will send you the exchange instructions so you will receive the new unit with the latest firmware installed.

The screen is stuck on "connecting"
This issue is affecting some Ford and Jeep brand owners. The issue was resolved just now, please follow the instructions on how to update it online to the public version.

Hola, los poseedores de CarPlay 2 wireless.. que tal es vuestra experiencia de uso tras estos meses? Notáis algún tipo de retardo comparado con la conexión cableada? Tenéis algún error de conexión? Muchas gracias! :)

Yo personalmente no he conseguido hacerlo funcionar y el servicio técnico después de probar varias cosas tampoco. Hay algún compañero q estaba contento con el.

Vaya, lamento leer esto.. estaba barajando comprarlo, pero claro gastarme 100€ aprox sin garantía de que funcione... entiendo que te compraste el de la página CPLAY2air wireless adapter for factory CarPlay on CARPLAY2air.com y que usas un iPhone con iOS actualizado verdad? Por cable te funciona normalmente?

Efectivamente. Cable va perfecto . Puede q haya tenido mal suerte pero no vale 10€ la verdad . Y no me mandan otro así que... aviso a navegantes ( tengo un XS)

Pues si te digo la verdad no había caído . Lo voy a mirar . Lo malo q ha pasado bastante tiempo entre q lo compre. Casi seis meses.

En Amazon he visto que hay otros, uno que vale 89€ por ejemplo, alguien lo tiene? O tiene alguna referencia sobre el?

Hola, ese que dices no es válido, ya que requiere una radio con sistema operativo Android (ósea no la que viene de serie con el coche). Hay otro de 150€ que si podría valer
 
Vamos que si queremos conexión sin cable hay que comprar el carplay2, alguien que lo tenga y le funcione sin problema?

Va muy bien, yo sobre todo lo uso con el googleo Maps para ver donde hay colas

La verdad es que cada vez me molesta más conectar el cable al teléfono.
Si veo que os va bien lo pillo, por que yo no soy muy ducho en tecnología, como para que tenga que solucionar problemitas
 
Si pillo uno lo haré por Amazon, por si no me convence devolverlo sin problemas.
